Les manifestacions del 1 de maig deixen un nombre superior de participació. A Barcelona van realitzar-se dues, la del mati convocada pels sindicats va reunir 100.000 persones i 40.000 la de la tarda, les dues xifres son rebaixades per interior deixant-les amb 15.000 i 7000 respectivament. Totes dues van tenir en comú, mostrar el rebuig a la política de retallades i de la reforma laboral.

No a les retallades, salvem els serveis públics
El passat 18 de Gener els funcionaris i gent que no ho son, van sortir al carrer per mostrar el seu rebuig a les retallades dictades pel Govern de la Generalitat. Segons interior 11.000 i segons l’organització 30.000 persones que van anar de la Plaça Sant Jaume al Parlament de Catalunya on és va llegir el manifest. Durant el recorregut van sonar xiulets, botzines.

12.000 agents dels cossos de seguretat, diuen no a les retallades
El 29 de desembre els cossos de seguretat formats pels: Bombers de la Generalitat, Mossos d’Esquadra, funcionaris de presons i agents rurals, s’han manifestat pel centre de Barcelona en contra de les retallades i afirmen que aquestes, posen en risc la seguretat dels ciutadans. La participació segons l’organització estaria en 12.000 persones

Aquest estiu sorprèn a part de la població veure manifestacions en ple mes d’agost, aquest fet no tindria d’estranyar sabent les xifres que tenim d’atur, índex de pobresa pujant, el nombre de centres sanitaris que pateixen tancaments o retallades. Però sembla que en molts casos, part de la població prefereix un estiu silenciós.
